Cordelia and Beatrix rivalry is kinda hilarious and complicated like :

Cordelia is the empress not the wife-empress but ruling empress,the title, which she gained from her dad Burai, a Vibora and she gave power and status of demon lord/sovereignity of demon world and also friendship between Viboras and Vampire to Karl through marriage.

Beatrix a mere 2nd wife with no status? gave birth to Shu and Reiji ,the 1st 2 elder children of Karl gets more priority to Karl's throne/power which he inherited from 1st wife than Ayato.🤔 Ayato isn't interested in throne and status and also he's rebel and blockhead is another story . He is so rebel and apathetic to the throne to the point Cordelia wasn't sure If Ayato will inherit the throne (LE)or not.Beatrix said to have better and expensive jewelaries. In YB , she managed to arrange/arranged a grand coming of age ceremony for Shu and Reiji behind Karl's back🤔 Her dress design even has gold.🤔 She always tell Shu to fight for glory and honor? Like girl whose honor and glory? Karl's dream is to Create a perfect Adam not a heartless? heir in MB. Karl didn't say Hey Beatrix, Cordelia is useless ,your son will inherit the throne,😆 There's no deny that Beatrix is supported by Vampire aristocrat/powerful people. She has guts.She also made a fool out of Cordelia sooo💅

Cordelia gets bored when mentioned Christa's name(HDB Reiji) but is interested when Reiji mentions his desire to torture Beatrix. She didn't give the Whore title to Beatrix is another story.

Beatrix was shaking in rage? Frustration? saying what if she's the demon lord daughter (HDB.manga Reiji) Like girl 😒what are you exactly thinking while usurping other people's throne? Why so entitled? What benefit did Karl get marrying you? I need some lore...Rejet give us some lore...Even Reiji in MB didn't understand why his father married Beatrix,a mediocre woman

Let's not mention Christa was surprised when she saw Cordelia? It's Yui/MC though Didn't leave the vampire castle. In LE, Viboras were always trying to cause trouble either want Yui/MC aka Cordelia's🫀 back to them or complaining why her children isn't on the throne or waging a war.

In Conclusion the Vampire people be like: Cordelia, My lady, You're the empress, extremely desirable, your blood is valuable, worth fighting for but we can't allow your Vibora-Vampire hybrid son Ayato on throne though it's his theoretically. We will support a random Vampire lady's Child to inherit the throne/power, you helped your husband to get.😆

Welcome, welcome! Thank you for taking interest!

As you can see, the cover art is... just a sketch. I'm an artist as well as a writer, but my drawing skills are buffering [it's stuck in 16 yo me's style]. I'll finish that art someday.

Right now, it's a concept. Which is the very thing the story, Rosé Misfortune, currently is.

WARNINGS ;

This is a yandere story.

Obsessive, possessive, manipulation, dubcon, stalker behaviors.

HOWEVER, I will not write pure smut.

Tension & suggestive, yes, but never explicit.

MC (reader) is morally gray/stupid. They used a love potion without consent.

I should say they might get annoying at times, depending on you tbh 😭

There are two (2) yanderes, so it's a love triangle,, or a love corner.

Rosé Misfortune—in which you, a college student, are working part-time in a cafe.

No partner since birth.

And having to watch all those couples have a date in the cafe? It's painful. Your chest hurts, literally, and you don't know if you should be concerned.

Rosé Misfortune—in which you, the protagonist, find yourself head over heels over your co-worker.

How convenient that your world has living witches in it.

In fact, your best friend is a witch who specializes in brewing potions.

How very convenient.

Rosé Misfortune—in which despite your best judgment, you decide to brew a love potion. Trix, for some reason, helps you with your wish.

Then the wrong person takes the horribly-made potion.

Or, for short, Trix. Your best friend and current roommate.

Coming from a line of magical witches, Trix doesn't exactly know how to cast a wand. Instead, she learns to brew potions and decides to make it her life's work to engineer new ones.

Her ancient family heirloom, a whole book of potions, can finally be used with her very hands!!

A big responsibility, indeed.

LITG S8 Spoilers

Disclaimer: Fusebox doesn't upload anything for future episodes anymore - no sprites, no outfits, no backgrounds, definitely no Casa Amor postcards. Booooo!

But I was going through the document I found during S7 which lists the S8 islanders names, and I'm kinda mad I didn't do this the first time I found it, because I found some additional info.

It's just crumbs, really, but it's better than nothing, right?

Spoilers under the cut!

Okay, we already know who the OG boys/girls are:

Theo, Oakley, Jin, Jack / Emel, Sophie, Luna, Claudia

Now I can confirm the Casa Amor boys are:

Kyle, Liam, Max (Emilio), Shawn

And the Casa Amor girls are:

Shannon, Hazel

All the Bombshells are:

Tyler, Hari, Bea (Beatrix), Logan

It's not really anything new, but we can draw a few conclusions. There are currently 4 couples, and there are 4 CA boys, which means of course there will be 4 couples going into Casa Amor. We don't know when the next bombshells are coming or if we're getting 1 or 2 (my guess is 2 - Hari and Bea, with Logan coming in later a la Toby), but for every bombshell that comes in before Casa, someone's gonna get dumped. One in, one out - two in, two out.

And with two Casa Amor girls staying in the villa that means two boys are switching. Which ones? We don't know, of course. I wouldn't be entirely shocked if MC's partner switches just because they have to do *something* a little different from previous seasons... at which point maybe the Theo/Claudia route opens up? Hmm... Just speculating, of course.

One final note is that it does seem like we'll be getting the heartrate challenge and Snog, Marry, Pie again - but those have become season staples so that's hardly a surprise. Oh, and don't be surprised if the box of "goodies" in the Hideaway makes another appearance...

5 Pieces of Media to Describe Me 🩷

A Hidden Life (2019). Not for everyone, but one of the few films that impacted my morality. Extremely relevant in the year that it was released, and now.

Original Fire: Selected and New Poems by Louise Erdrich. Really beautiful poetry. That’s all there is to it.

The Others (2001). One of my favorites to break out once December roles around. It was extremely difficult to pick just one horror movie for this (if I hadn’t, the list would be dominated by them) but I can’t get over the atmospheric creaking of the old Channel Islands manor.

Smilla’s Sense of Snow by Peter Høeg. Smilla Qaaviqaaq Jaspersen = my favorite female MC of all time. Worth the somewhat weak third act. Highly recommend if you’re into pushy, rough women.

Vagabond by Takehiko Inoue. On hiatus since May 2015, although I believe the last exhibition provides all of the closure one needs regarding the story’s themes and (unrealized) plot points. Musashi and Kojiro’s largely fictionalized dynamic is one of my all-time favorites.

Okay the tldr can be found here for the plot. Harknesses on the other hand.

The big bad mafia corporation in the book is Harkness incorparated, organization that spans from import to hotels to entertaiment. One thing they don't advertise though, are assasinations. CEO of the company is Evalyn Harkness, the only legimiate heir, after his father died under mysterious circumtances. (See, secret assasinations lol) She is the head bitch in charge. She is hotheaded and assertive. Because the narration is from perspective of an outsider, the true crime podcaster, you can't see all the scheming she does but she has a plan to throw Valentine Lee, the unofficial third harkness sibling.

Valentine Lee is the CFO of Harkness incorparated. He is also the head of assasinations. He is the biggest scheamer and one who keeps a guard while talking, with Evalyn enjoying the flare of the dramatics. He has the plans. He has the ideas. He is planning to overthrow Evalyn especially now that all of incorparated is burning due to False Gods leak.

I am also happy to say that Valentine is one of the three love interest for the technical mc Beatrix Jones. Evalyn also has a sunshine girl as a love interest.

The last sibling isn't a schemer. Stevie aka Stefan is just... unofortunately born as a mafia heir while having a poets soul. He is the second lobe interest as Beatrix's best friend (the narrator Love is the third lol)

Bit of a snippet:

Context: Love sneaked into the Harkness incorparated and got caught by Valentine. Instead of killing her, they made a deal that Love would give a messenge to Beatrix in exchange for a story about a death of Nicholas Harkness. Now... she has found out they are planning to burn the whole place to the ground (troughout the story there are newsclipping made by three reporters. Those reporters are in that fire)

“You really thought you could just waltz here in normal circumstances? For someone who is researching us, you really don’t understand this company. Yesterday, we announced the whole company is closing for a bit. Tonight, someone with a vendetta against us, we still haven’t decided, is going to burn this place to the ground.” Valentine shrugged his shoulders. “We are prepping for the arson right now, so I’m suggesting you leave.”

“Why are you telling me this?”

Love could feel a chill down her spine as Valentine smiled, his dimples showing. Love was perplexed how he still looked terrifying even with dimples. “Because you won’t tell anyone.”

“How do you know that?”

Valentine chuckled. “You are very free to prove me wrong. Let’s see what happens if you do so.”

Love wanted to say something back, fight at least somewhat to Valentine’s accusations og her being spineless, but a loud smack on the door made her jump. She was going to die. She was totally going to die. Very tall gorgeous woman stomped inside with fury in her eyes, her shining straight hair bouncing with the clack of her high heels. Evalyn Harkness looked at Love, and Valentine, and back to Love. “Who is she, and why isn’t she dead?”

“You are Evalyn Harkness.” Love’s mouth was open as the woman in front of her rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.

“She is harmless. You know the Love and Murder podcast? That’s Love from that. Found the id from the floor and was dumb enough to try to come in. She has been aimlessly walking around here.”

“Hey!” Love could feel the most dangerous woman in the world looking at her with furrowed eyes. She was going to notice his bluff. She needed to look more dumb she actually was. “Fine. I was dumpster diving after I tried to come in for the first time and I found it.”

Evalyn looked at Love up and down, a smile creeping slowly to her face. She bought the half lie easily, maybe because of how Love’s body was shaking. Slowly, a small giggle turned into loud laughter she hid behind her perfectly manicured and accesorised hand. “Just some dumbass fucking influencer. What is she even doing here?”

Love would have corrected her behvior, if she was like anyone else. “I’m… looking for your brother for an interview. “

The woman’s whole demenor changed. Love turned to look at Valentine who looked back at her like she had signed her death warrant. “Kill her.”

“What?”

“Livvie, please. Not now. The girl is completely innocent. She is just… airheaded.”

“Excuse me-”

“No, I want her dead.” Love was like air between the two powerhouses arguing over her like she wasn’t even there, like she was a thrash no one wanted to take out.

“Please, let’s not-” Valentine rubbed his temples and sighed. “We have a plan. One extra body would jepordize it.”

“I’m your superior. Do what I say!”

“Livvie, Jesus.” Valentine rolled his eyes and looked at Love. “Do you promise not to tell anyone, even your podcast followers, you saw us here, and in exchange, you won’t become totally burned?”

Love nodded furiously towards Valentine and Evalyn. Valentine pointed towards Love, making Evalyn roll her eyes. She leaned closer to the older woman and smiled with only her lips, her eyes imagining Love bludgened to the ground. “Fine. If Valentine wants to protect another dumbass, be my fucking guest. If I do find out you, yes you, look me in the eyes, have even thought about me and my brother next to a camera, I will smash your head against the wall and feed your corpse to hyeenas in my next trip to the savannah. Got it, little girl?”

Love gulped and nodded largely. “Perfectly got it.”

The anon's opinion on the otome games female main characters being sweet chicks was very interesting. I can relate to that. A perfect example of a female lead could be Beatrix Kiddo or The Bride from Kill Bill (I don't know if you have seen it but I highly recommend watching Kill Bill, if you haven't seen it. It's a great movie. However, I should warn you that it contains some pretty gruesome violence and gore. But if you can handle that, then I think you'll really enjoy the story and characters). Not only is it a different style of chick compared to these kinds of female MCs in otome games, but she's also her own reason and goal as she ends up in the main situation - meeting the other characters - not luck. Most otome games simply start with an MC who just accepts being in a situation around some hot guys.

This is an entire discussion within media in general, but it definitely varies depending on which type of media you're discussing.

I've seen Kill Bill and it does in fact pass the Bechdel test, which is really a good way to measure whether or not a female lead is a well rounded character on her own or only exists as a supplement to the male characters. The main rule here is that there should be at least two female characters who have a conversation about something other than a man. It's less about how many women are in the work and more about whether or not those women take an active role in the story. The idea that they have wants and needs outside of the men in their story.

The problem with dating sims is that all the characters are men. We have one female love interest in Thirteen, but she's the only one and she wasn't even around from the beginning.

I really feel like a lot of the issues Obey Me has comes from its format. Not only do you have an MC character that needs to fit as many people as possible while still being active within the story, but you've also got all dialogue all the time. There is no way to show the environment beyond the background images. Characters' inner thoughts are generally unavailable as well.

And in the case of a female lead, you're dealing with someone who needs to be generic by default.

You can certainly discuss why generic MC is always so kind and likable. Is that more about how society sees women and often prefers and praises women who are meek or nice or good at cooking or whatever? Or is it more about them trying to facilitate a love story between a generic character and any of the other characters?

If there were routes, you could be more picky about it, I think. Because they could make the "generic MC" the type of character that they know would be a good love interest for the romanceable character in that scenario. For instance, if you were playing a route to romance Lucifer specifically, they could give the MC character a little more personality to suit what they know would work well in a romance with him. However, when you're dealing with a cast of eleven characters that the MC could be dating, well then you need an MC that's likeable enough that all eleven of those characters will be able to fall in love with them simultaneously.

I'm not defending it or anything, I'm just saying there are major restraints to this kind of format.

What they have to do is create as generic an MC character as possible and hope that it works out for the players.

In media like movies and books, you definitely have more space to explore female leads that are different. Kill Bill is a good example. And generally I'd say this particular issue is improving in media as a whole.

But do I think it'll ever change for otomes/dating sims?? I have no idea, honestly. The best we can do for now is to reimagine the events as we play. I think this is why so many people tend to rewrite the whole story with their MC in mind. Because it would play out differently for every MC.

Anyway, sorry to ramble lol! But this is an interesting discussion!

I am very curious as to what a slime rancher Au entails, is Lupin just. Stealing slime. Is he ranching the slime? Does he come the slime. The possibilities are endless

Actually this specific AU is based of the game of the same name!

The games plot is pretty simple, the MC Beatrix LeBeau(Girl shown in the pic above) travels thousand light years away from Earth to a planet called the "Far Far Range" to become a rancher of the adorable alien slimes that live there.

The AU pretty much goes like this. The Lupin finds out that people are making a ton of money off planet doing…something. He convinces the gang to travel there and as he plans on having them steal whatever it is, Zenigata and Yata hearing of there plan and of course following them. Only when they get there, they realize people are well…Slime ranching, and the slimes are how people are getting money. Lupin would also conveniently leave out the fact that it'd take an entire year to get to the Far Far Range. He'd be like "What? We were asleep the entire trip so I doesn't matter, right?".

Anyways, Lupin immediately falls in love with the little babies, but also finds himselfs incredibly intrigued by the many mysteries of the Far Far Range.

I have question it that possible for MC to talking to JM about MC's twin if MC and MC's twin have distant relationship? Can JM and MC have conversation about they own siblings (Brandon/Beatrix) that they have distant relationship with?

Yes, but probably not during the sleepover.

I can't say for sure when, but the earliest I could see it happening is in Vol. 2, since there isn't really a scene in Vol. 1 where MC and JM can be alone for a private convo together.

I imagine the conversation will be available regardless of your relationship though, and you might be able to have a longer discussion if you're also bestfriends with JM.
